Scope
This document describes test methods for artificial weathering of plastics used in heavily polluted outdoor environments. This document does not apply to life predictions for plastics used in heavily polluted outdoor environments. This document describes two different exposure methods, with the test method chosen depending on the type of plastic product being evaluated. Method A is a short-term spraying of strong acidic solution (5), which is suitable for damage forms dominated by surface degradation. Method B is a longer period of weakly acidic pH 1. solution spraying (5), which is suitable for situations where the acid can penetrate deeply into the product, such as geotextiles and related products. pH3. This document does not cover the effects of special chemicals (such as pesticides).
