Scope
1.1 This test method covers procedures for determining air performance characteristics of household central vacuum cleaning systems, which use a flexible cleaning hose assembly and incorporates a series universal motor(s). This test method does not apply to the carpet cleaning mode of operation where dirt or debris is involved. 1.2 These tests and calculations include determination of suction, airflow, air power, maximum air power, and input power under standard operating conditions (see Note 1). NOTE 1—For more information on air performance characteristics, see Refs (1-6).2 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are provided for information only. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. A specific precautionary statement is given in Note 4. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
