This standard specifies the principles, equipment, workflow, processing effect comparison and control reports for using sound beams (elastic beams in solids) with certain energy and directionality to control residual stress on the surface and inside of metal materials. This standard is applicable to the on-site reduction and homogenization of residual stress in the assembly and welding of large metal components such as metal containers, steel structures, pipelines, tracks, car bodies, aerospace cabins, etc. The control of surface and internal residual stress of other non-metallic sound-transparent material components can also be adopted as a reference.
