Summary
BSI has published the UKLeaP as a Draft for Development series. DD 8788 supports the immediate needs of learning and skills organizations within the UK, enabling them to exchange information about learners. It provides essential support for the developments required to meet key parts of the Government’s “Life Long Learning” agenda, and stimulates vendors to meet UK needs and market UK education internationally.
DD 8788-1 contains contextual information, recommendations and guidance material which explains the relevance of UKLeaP and sets BS 8788-2 and BS 8788-3 in context.
It covers:
the means by which learner information can be packaged in order to be exchanged with disparate systems using DD 8788-3
the flexible use of DD 8788-2 to support the development of both simple and complex learner information packages
the extensibility offered by the specification
the use of bindings
the policy and business cases for the use of the specification.
