Scope: This standard specifies the instruments, measurement environment, measurement parameters, ship measurement status, measurement procedures and measurement reports for onboard noise measurement. This standard applies to the measurement of noise on board ships. The measurement results are mainly used for: ——comparison of various ships; ——in the delivery and acceptance test, as a comparison with domestic or international regulations, as well as indicators specified in the shipowner’s contract technical specification; ——as a further Basis for research and adoption of noise reduction measures; ——as a basis for evaluating noise exposure and noise impact on crew members; ——evaluating the clarity of speech; ——evaluating the audibility of audible alarms.
