Scope

This standard specifies the basic principles, basic regulations, assessment project content and requirements, assessment methods, assessment procedures, application of assessment results and safety assessment report for the safety assessment of old traction elevators. This standard is applicable to the safety assessment of electrically driven traction passenger elevators and freight elevators; it is not applicable to electrically driven forced elevators, hydraulic elevators, explosion-proof elevators, miscellaneous elevators, escalators and moving walkways.
