Scope
This document specifies the sub-protocol of Atomic Key Establishment and Entity Authentication (AKEA) - Key Establishment and Entity Authentication using a combination of pre-shared keys and certificates (AKEA-M), that is, the entity uses a digital certificate on one end and a pre-shared key on the other. Key establishment and entity authentication of keys can be encapsulated in the Extensible Encapsulation Protocol (EEP) to support key negotiation and confirmation mechanisms for inter-entity communication and information exchange (TIE).
