This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and descriptions, principles, methods and evaluation of the effects of ultrasonic shock treatment to eliminate residual stress of metal materials. This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic impact elimination residual stress treatment of metal components whose material thickness is greater than 4 mm, yield strength is not greater than 900 MPa, and elongation after fracture is greater than 5%.
