- This standard provides guidance for systematically conducting research on the biological hazards of residual particles in additively manufactured metal implants, so as to achieve the purpose of evaluating their biological hazards. This standard is applicable to the biological hazard evaluation of residual particles of implanted medical devices that are in contact with bone tissue and produced using metal powder as raw material through a powder bed fusion process using laser or electron beam as energy source.
