Scope
These standards cover reels which are generally intended for shipping rubber- and thermoplastic- insulated wires and cables without lead covering@ which are not intended to be returned to the supplier when the contents have been removed. These standards do not apply to reels having a flange diameter smaller than 6-1/2 inches or larger than 96 inches. (Reels intended for shipment overseas may require heavier constructions than those shown herein.)
