Scope
FOREWORD Since the end of World War II@ there has been considerable emphasis in the petroleum on Marketing Research. Marketing Research@ of course@ means different things in different companies. The total of projects carried on by several companies in the petroleum industry represents a wide range of subjects. During the last seven years@ members of the API Marketing Research Committee (who in most cases were in charge of Marketing Research in their respective companies) have presented papers on subjects in which their Marketing Managements had considerable interest. In the thought that these papers will be of use to people outside the petroleum industry@ the API Marketing Division has selected typical studies for inclusion in this publication. All but one of the nineteen authors@ or coauthors@ listed here are present or former members of the API Marketing Research Committee. The one exception was an alternative member. Company affiliations for each author and date of presentation are shown in the text. Any changes in affiliation are shown by footnote.
