Scope

This specification covers retroreflective sheeting@ translucent ink@ and overlay film intended for traffic control applications. The sheeting serves as the reflectorized background for sign messages and legends and symbols applied to the reflectorized background. Messages may be applied in opaque black or transparent colors. All material furnished under this specification shall have been manufactured within 18 months of the delivery date. All material shall be supplied by the same manufacturer. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. This specification does not purport to address all of the safety concerns@ if any@ associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
