This part of GB/T 17215 provides a method for estimating product life characteristics through accelerated reliability tests. Acceleration is achieved by increased constant temperature and humidity stress. This method also takes into account the effects of voltage and current variations. Other factors, like temperature changes, shocks, dust, voltage dips and short interruptions, electrostatic discharges, fast transient bursts, surges, etc., were not taken into account although they might affect the life characteristics of the meter. This standard applies to all types of electrical energy metering and load control devices within the scope of SAC/TC104. The methods given in this section can be used to estimate (with a certain degree of confidence) the life characteristics of such equipment before and during series production. This method can also be used to compare different design alternatives. 2
