- This document stipulates the general requirements for performance testing and evaluation of medical sterilizers used in medical and health institutions, testing content and requirements, as well as records and reports. This document is applicable to pressure steam sterilizers, ethylene oxide sterilizers, low-temperature steam formaldehyde sterilizers, hydrogen peroxide gas plasma low-temperature sterilizers and dry heat sterilizers in all types of medical and health institutions at all levels. Performance testing and evaluation of newly installed sterilizers, as well as recalibration evaluation after relocation, overhaul, and before reactivation after being out of service for six months or more. Note 1: Among the performance testing and evaluation specified in this document, sterilization performance testing and evaluation is the most important requirement. Note 2: The sterilizing agent of the ethylene oxide sterilizer uses ethylene oxide gas with a concentration of 100%.
