This standard specifies the classification and code of alloy structural steel, order content, size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificates. This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged alloy structural steel bars with a nominal diameter or thickness not greater than 250 mm. After negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, hot-rolled and forged alloy structural steel bars (hereinafter referred to as steel bars) can also be supplied with a nominal diameter or thickness greater than 250 mm. The grades and chemical compositions specified in this standard are also applicable to steel ingots, billets and their products.
