Scope
1.1 This specification coverstolerances forjute single and plied rove and jute plied yams, both treated and untreated products, designed for electrical and packing purposes. 1.2 Tolerances for the various properties and the test methods upon which the tolerances are based are included in the following sections: Yam or Rove Number 4 12 Breaking Load (Strength)-Single Strand 5 13 Twist 6 7 14 Extractable Matter with OrganicSolvents 8 15 Properties Tolerances Test Methods NOTE1-For tolerances and test methods for single-jute yam, refer to Specification D541, for methods for twine, refer to Specification D 1233. 1.3 The following hazards caveat pertains only to the test method portion, Sections 12, 13, 14, and 15, of this specification: Thisstandard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use.
