- This standard specifies the terminology, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of DC digital voltmeters and DC analog-to-digital converters, as well as marking, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. This standard applies to digital DC voltage measuring instruments (hereinafter referred to as instruments) and electronic analog-to-digital converters (hereinafter referred to as converters) designed to convert DC voltage in data and information processing equipment or systems. This standard also applies to the DC voltage measurement function of digital multimeters and accessories used in conjunction with measuring instruments. If the measuring instrument is calibrated together with accessories, this standard also applies to their combination. Some parts of this standard can be applied to other types of DC analog/digital converters, such as digital resistance meters and DC digital ammeters. This standard does not apply to instruments for measuring or transforming AC voltages.
