Scope
Basic control procedures are mainly applicable to data terminal equipment (DTE)/data circuit terminating equipment (DCE) or communication between DTE/DTE in the network. This standard only specifies the transmission on one data link and does not deal with the operation of "tandem" data links. Composition of the standard This standard consists of character encoding and structure, transmission control characters, message format, data communication phase, error control, recovery procedures, instructions for the use of transmission control characters, "conversational transmission control procedures", "code-independent information transmission Control Regulations" and "Multi-station Selection" and includes five appendices A, B, C, D, and E. This standard is based on the use of ISO1745-1975 "Basic Control Procedures Used in Data Communication Systems", ISO1155-1978 "Information Processing Using Longitudinal Parity Check to Detect Errors in Information Messages", ISO1177-1985 "Information Processing Transmission-Oriented Start-stop and Character Structure of Synchronous Characters", ISO2111-1985 "Data Communication Basic Control Procedure Coding Independent Information Transmission", ISO2628-1973 "Supplement to Basic Control Procedure", ISO2629-1973 "Basic Control Procedure Conversational Information Message Transmission" and related domestic standards. Principles for the use of basic control procedures Technical provisions of this standard a. The characters of information texts use the coded characters specified in GB1988-89 "Seven-bit Coded Character Set for Information Processing and Exchange", and also use the coded characters in accordance with GB11383-89 "Information Processing The eight-bit code structure and coding rules for information exchange" and GB2311-80 "Information Processing Seven-bit and Eight-bit Coded Character Set Code Expansion Technology" stipulated and expanded coded graphic character sets, such as GB8045-87 "Information Processing and Exchange Mongolian Seven-bit and eight-bit coded graphic character sets", etc. However, the information and telegrams in Chapter 10 of this standard "code-independent information transmission procedures" are not restricted by codes. b. In this standard, the transmission control function of each transmission procedure is completed by the ten transmission control characters specified in GB1988 and some extended sequences. This standard does not specify the following technical issues: a. Implementation method of the procedure (hardware or software); b. Information transmission rate; c. Serial or parallel transmission, start-stop or synchronous synchronization; d. The response to the supervisory sequence is to use the same channel or another channel. This standard applies to the following situations: a. On the same channel, information is transmitted in one direction and monitored alternately. b. Unidirectional transmission of information on one channel while monitoring is alternately performed on the other channel. c. On the same channel, the two directions alternately transmit information and monitor alternately. d. On two independent channels, information is transmitted alternately in both directions and monitored alternately
