- This standard specifies the marks and definitions of inspection positions for timing instruments. This standard applies to the inspection position markings of analog timing instruments, and also applies to the inspection position markings of movements and timing instruments without conventional dials. The markings and definitions specified in this standard are independent of the type, construction or size of the timekeeping instrument.
