- This standard specifies the classification, code, size, shape, technical requirements, test methods, acceptance rules, packaging, marks, and quality certificates of general-purpose low-carbon steel wire (hereinafter referred to as steel wire). This standard applies to low-carbon steel wires with round cross-sections for general binding, pulling, nail-making, braiding and construction purposes.
