- These rules are formulated for the purpose of correctly classifying and indexing archives, selecting appropriate symbols to express the subject of archive documents, ensuring the quality of classifying and indexing archives, improving retrieval results, and realizing sharing of archive resources. This rule is applicable to archives (rooms) at all levels and types that use the "Chinese Archives Classification Method" to classify and index various types of archives in their possession. These rules apply to the compilation of archives classification catalogs, indexes, and the establishment of archives catalog centers and databases for archives classification and indexing.
