GB/T 43491-2023 "Wire Rope Creep Test Method" is an important standard that aims to regulate the creep performance determination of wire ropes under constant load. The standard was drafted by Guizhou Wire Rope Co., Ltd. and other units, and is mainly applicable to the creep property research and quality control of wire ropes in the industrial field.
| Standard dimensions | GB/T 43491—2023 | International advanced level | Comparison with old standards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope of application | Determination of creep properties of wire rope under constant load | In line with international standards, suitable for testing a variety of materials | Limited to specific types of wire ropes |
| Test equipment | Requires force fluctuation range ≤0.5%, calibration accuracy level 1 or higher | Uses high-precision sensors and automated control systems | Equipment accuracy is low, no detailed calibration specifications |
| Specimen preparation | Specimens should be straight, undamaged, and securely tied at both ends | Pay attention to surface treatment and dimensional accuracy | No clear requirements for bundling method and specimen status |
| Test procedure | Includes preloading, temperature control and data recording | Use dynamic loading and environmental simulation technology | Only static test conditions are specified |
| Data processing | Introduce temperature compensation formula to ensure accurate results | Apply complex data analysis software | Only simple calculation of elongation |
It is recommended to use a high-precision testing machine, such as a tensile testing machine that meets Class 1 accuracy. Perform regular calibration in accordance with GB/T16825.1 and ensure that the gauge length of the measuring device meets the standard requirements.
Operators must undergo professional training and be familiar with the basic principles and operating procedures of creep tests. It is recommended to organize technical exchanges and practical exercises regularly to improve test efficiency and accuracy.
The test should be carried out in an environment with a temperature fluctuation range of ≤±2℃ to ensure that the measuring device is protected from mechanical vibration and electromagnetic interference. For large wire rope specimens, it is recommended to take shock-absorbing measures to reduce external interference.
Use professional data analysis software to process the test data, especially when temperature compensation is required. It is recommended to record data every 1 hour for at least 200 hours, and draw creep curves in time to observe changes in wire rope performance.
