- This document specifies the general requirements for the collection and processing of human stool samples, as well as the requirements and methods for pre-collection preparation, sample and data collection, sample and data processing. This document is applicable to the collection and processing of human stool samples for clinical and basic medical research involved in biobanks, and can be used by institutions engaged in human stool collection and preservation (biobanks), users of biobanks, regulatory agencies of biobanks, Reference use by peer assessment organizations, biobank quality and competency accreditation bodies, etc. This document does not apply to the collection and processing of feces (anal swab) samples for clinical diagnosis of diseases, observation of curative effects, and therapeutic purposes in clinical medical institutions.
