This standard specifies the following: (a) Tests to investigate the structural characteristics of FOPS (b) Performance requirements for typical tests of FOPS This is a method of testing the characteristics of a support structure and, albeit indirectly, the load capacity of a supporting structure against impact loads. 1.3 This standard establishes a reliable and repeatable method for evaluating the loaded characteristics of FOPS and specifies performance requirements for representative tests under load. Note 1: The representative test in this standard is a method for testing currently produced FOPS specimens with typical materials, dimensions, and manufacturing processes. 1.4 This standard applies to the following operator-operated earthmoving machines as defined in ISO 6165: Note that the type of steering system used does not matter.
