Scope

This document gives how to select the wheelchair required by the user according to the national standard for wheelchairs. This document gives standardized testing and information release, comprehensive considerations for wheelchair selection, occupant physical characteristics, guidelines for manual wheelchairs, and electric wheelchairs, which can help users understand the purpose and content of national standards for wheelchairs. The content of this document consists of the following six chapters. a) How to use this technical report. b) Standardized test methods and information dissemination: Provide background on wheelchair standardized test information. Describes how wheelchair vehicles are tested and how information should be disseminated. c) Comprehensive considerations: Describes the comprehensive considerations for selecting manual or electric wheelchairs. d) The physical characteristics of the occupant: the manual wheelchair or electric wheelchair that is suitable for the physical characteristics of the occupant. e) Manual wheelchairs: Describes the test method for manual wheelchairs. f) Electric wheelchairs: Describes the test methods for electric wheelchairs, focusing on three-wheel and four-wheel electric scooters and standard electric wheelchairs. The test methods in the two chapters of manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs are based on the following three aspects: --- performance; --- safety; --- size. For each test, this document contains the following content: ---The reason why the user needs this test result; ---A brief description of the method of the standardized test; ---How the manufacturer should publish the test results in the product technical file ; ——How to interpret these test results from the user's point of view.
