- This document specifies the testing requirements and classification of test results using phased-array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) to detect volumetric defects in aluminum alloy friction stir welding joints. This document is suitable for the detection and evaluation of aluminum alloy friction stir welding joints with a thickness of 1.5mm~10mm. The inspection and evaluation of joints with other joint forms and thicknesses can be carried out by reference.
