This Chapter is intended to cover the additional hull construction@ machinery and safety equipment requirements to class a vessel as a passenger vessel@ not contained elsewhere in the Rules. These requirements are applicable to those features that are permanent in nature and can be verified by plan review@ calculation@ physical survey or any other means. This Chapter is intended for passenger vessels to be used exclusively for the transportation and entertainment of their passengers and@ accordingly@ does not address requirements associated with transportation of cargo and vehicles. This Chapter does not address the requirements from the 1974 SOLAS Convention@ as amended@ for operational instructions@ Life-Saving Appliances and Arrangements (Chapter III)@ Radiotelegraphy and Radiotelephony (Chapter IV) and Safety of Navigation (Chapter V)@ which may be found in the Convention.
