Scope

This standard specifies the compressed data format and decoding process for VC-3 compressed video data. VC-3 supports high definition YCBCR video data in both 8-bit and 10-bit sampling depths for 4:2:2 sampling of 1920×1080 and 1280×720 video rasters, as well as 4:2:2 1440×1080 and 960×720 rasters obtained from a 3/4 down sampling of 1920 and 1280 samples per line rasters, respectively.
