Scope: This section applies to the exchange of pulse amplitude histogram data in nuclear spectroscopy measurements, regardless of the data source, the device that reads or writes the data, and the media containing the data. The purpose of this section is to provide an exchange format for multichannel analyzer (MCA) histogram data for nuclear spectroscopy measurements that can be used to transmit multichannel pulse amplitude data between laboratories and distribute these data for inspection purposes. To be compatible with a large number of computer languages, computers, and hardware links, complete files must be written in ASCH. It is expected that these files will be converted to a native format before use.
