This standard stipulates the definition, holding conditions and basic requirements for organization of large-scale outdoor mass sports events such as marathons. This standard applies to outdoor mass sports activities similar to the marathon organization format within the territory of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), organized by social forces, supervised by local administrative departments, and open to public registration.
