- Scope
- This standard applies to wood products for areas with tropical climates and establishes methods of protection against biological destruction by fungi and insects and security parameters. The following are subject to protection from biological destruction by fungi and insects: wood products of T category 1; 1.1; 2; 3;3.1; 5 according to GOST 15150 for storage or operation in areas with a tropical climate for more than 3 months; wood products made of TV categories 4; 4.1; 4.2 according to GOST 15150 when stored or used in areas with a tropical climate for more than 6 months; containers intended for storing TV products in areas with a humid tropical climate for more than 3 months. At the consumer's request, the following are subject to protection from biological destruction by fungi and insects: containers intended for storing vehicle-specific products in areas with a tropical climate for more than 6 months; containers of design T, intended for transporting products by sea; platforms and other wooden parts of trucks, trailers, semi-trailers, regardless of their service life in areas with a dry tropical climate or their service life of more than 2 years in a humid tropical climate. Protection of wood products of execution T for areas with a tropical climate must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of this standard and the requirements of the relevant standards for impregnation methods according to technological instructions approved in the prescribed manner. Protection of wood products from biological destruction by fungi and insects is carried out by impregnation with protective agents or by applying paint and varnish coatings into which a protective agent is introduced
