- This part specifies the specimens for laboratory intergranular corrosion testing of low-alloy structural steel used in marine environments and their preparation, test equipment, test solutions, test conditions and procedures, test result evaluation and test reports. This section is suitable for determining the intergranular corrosion depth of low-alloy structural steel in accelerated solutions in marine environments to test its resistance to intergranular corrosion. Intergranular corrosion tests in other corrosive environments may be performed with reference to this section.
