- This document specifies the method principles, instruments and sample preparation equipment, sample preparation, test procedures and test reports for the determination of melting temperature of slag materials. This document is suitable for the determination of smelting slag and continuous casting molding slag by high temperature metallography. The measurement of melting temperatures of ores with similar compositions can also be used as a reference. This document does not apply to slag materials that react with platinum flakes.
