Scope: This standard specifies the safety and performance requirements for Holter systems as defined in 3.1. This standard applies to the following two types of dynamic electrocardiogram systems (hereinafter referred to as "equipment"): a) Provide continuous recording, analysis of electrocardiograms and full playback. The ECG can be recorded and stored first and then played back and analyzed by an independent device, or recording and analysis can be performed simultaneously. The selection of storage media has nothing to do with this standard; b) Provides continuous analysis but only partial recording and does not provide full playback. This standard does not apply to equipment that cannot provide continuous recording and analysis of electrocardiograms, such as intermittent event recorders.
