The breeding site should be far away from pollution sources, in the lower zone of the high tide zone and the middle and upper zone of the mid-tidal zone. The tidal flat surface is gentle, the coating texture is stable, muddy or sandy, there are few harmful organisms, benthic algae grow well, and the content of organic debris is high. The fence uses 18-20 mesh polyethylene or ordinary plastic screen mesh, with a net height of 30-40cm. Dig a water storage ring ditch about 1m wide inside the net 1m away from the fence to prevent the mud snails from escaping. After catching the seedlings, rinse them with sea water to remove impurities. The shell should be intact, preferably slightly yellow in color, and the abdomen and legs can stretch freely and are not contaminated. It is advisable to choose pure mud snail seedlings and do not mix them with Brahma snails (mud snails are very similar to Brahma snails).
