- This standard specifies the redundant design and testing requirements for redundant dynamic positioning systems of ships or offshore facilities. This standard applies to the redundant design and testing of DP2 and DP3 dynamic positioning systems on ships or offshore installations (hereinafter referred to as ships). Note: The tests of dynamic positioning system include: dynamic positioning control system, independent joint joystick system and dynamic positioning system failure mode and impact test.
