- Scope
- This standard specifies a method for determining the dynamic coefficient of friction between moving yarns and solid materials. This standard is applicable to all types of yarns, including filaments. It is not applicable to yarns whose yarn strength is too low, causing the sample to break during the test. This standard can compare the friction properties between the same yarn and different solid materials, or the friction properties between the same yarn and surfaces with different roughness, and the friction properties between the same solid material and different yarns.
