Scope
This document provides the necessary calculation formulas and templates for various pipe properties, including: ---Pipe properties, such as tensile strength, internal compressive strength and external extrusion strength; ---Minimum physical indicators; ---Above Buckle torque; ——Product test pressure; ——Product critical dimensions related to test testing standards; ——Critical dimensions of test equipment; ——Critical dimensions of samples. For the calculation formula of pipe performance, the society provides a large amount of background information related to its development and use, see Appendix A~Appendix J for details. The version file is applicable to pipes produced according to ISO11960 or APISpe c5CT, ISO11961 or APISpe c5D, ISO3183 or APISpe c out of 5L. With caution, the formulas and templates in this document can be used for other pipes. Tubes that have been cold worked during their manufacture (eg cold straightened tubes) are also included within the scope of this document. This document does not apply to pipes that are cold-worked after finished pipes, such as expandable pipes and coiled tubing. The use of the performance calculation formulas in this document for medium line pipes and other pipes is limited to the use of these pipes as casing/oil pipe or laboratory use, and the heat treatment process, straightening process and yield strength must be the same as those of the closest casing / Tubing products correspond carefully. The same care should be taken when these formulas are used in the calculation of drill pipe properties. By inputting the manufacturing parameters of the pipe, this document and the formulas contained in it can calculate the expected performance of the pipe in ISO11960 or APISpe c5CT, ISO11961 or APISpe c5D, ISO3183 or APISpe c5L. The calculation results of the formulas in this document cannot be understood as a guarantee of the production process. Manufacturers produce petroleum tubing according to production specifications that include product dimensions and physical and chemical properties. The design formula in this document provides a reference for users to describe the performance of tubing and wellbore design or research on tubing characteristics. This document is not a design specification, it only provides formulas and templates for the performance calculation of pipes used in downholes. This document does not provide any guidance as to the loads the pipe may experience or the safety margins required for an acceptable design. The user determines the appropriate design loads and selects an adequate safety factor for a safe and efficient design. Design loads and safety factors can be selected based on historical experience, local regulatory requirements and specific well conditions. All the formulas and listed pipe performance data in this document (see Appendix K and Appendix L) are assumed to be in a good environment, and the material properties meet the requirements of ISO11960 or APISpe c5CT, ISO11961 or APISpe c5D, ISO3183 or APISpe c5L. Other environments may require additional analysis, as listed in Appendix D. This document does not cover the seal strength of pipe joints and pipe performance under dynamic loads. All tensile stresses in this document are positive values.
