- Scope
- This standard specifies pressurized fluid extraction methods for the extraction of organic matter from soils and sediments. This standard is applicable to the extraction of semi-volatile organic compounds and non-volatile organic compounds such as organophosphorus pesticides, organochlorine pesticides, chlorinated herbicides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates, polychlorinated biphenyls, etc. from soil and sediments. See Appendix A for details. If verified, this standard can also be applied to the extraction of other organic matter in soil and sediments.
