Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for emission systems in portable chain saws and brush cutters that may cause fire hazards. Technical requirements include: 　——Maximum temperatures of exhaust gases and exhaust system surfaces; 　——Maximum hole size of screen Mars suppressors; 　——Limitations on sediment; 　——Durability and reliability requirements . Test methods include: 　——Test methods for exhaust gas and exhaust system surface temperatures; 　——Method for determining the hole size of screen-type Mars suppressors. Note: Except for screen-type spark suppressors, this standard does not specify a method for measuring the limit size of carbon particles in emissions.
