Scope
1. Scope 1.1 These requirements cover emergency valves that are intended to be used for the control of flammable and combustible liquids. They are of the type used in the assembly of motor fuel dispensing equipment and associated piping systems. Valves covered by this Standard are for use with flammable and combustible liquids which are handled at temperatures within the range of -40 to +50°C. 1.2 Valves covered under these requirements shall be newly produced valves constructed entirely of new unused parts and materials. 1.3 These requirements cover valves of the manually or temperature operated types or combinations of such to the exclusion of types operated wholly or partially by electricity. They may form a part of an assembly which provides for additional functions of service, the requirements of which are outside the scope of this Standard.
