- This document specifies a method for testing the resistance of glass to erosion by boiling mixed aqueous solutions of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide. The alkali resistance of the glass is expressed by the mass lost per unit surface area, and the corrosion resistance of the boiling mixed alkali aqueous solution is graded according to the mass loss. This document is applicable to all kinds of glass and ceramics.
