Scope: This standard applies to fruit and vegetable juices, nectars, fruit drinks and juice-containing drinks, fruit and vegetable concentrated juices, purees and concentrated purees, fruit drinks and concentrated fruit drinks, juice products from fruits and vegetables fortified and for baby food and establishes a high-performance liquid chromatography method for determination of the mass concentration or mass fraction of the sum of free forms and salts of the following organic acids: oxalic, tartaric, quinic, malic, isocitric, citric, lactic, shikimic, succinic and fumaric. Organic acids having optical isomers are detected as the sum of their enantiomers (D- and L-forms). The measurement of individual forms of optical isomers is outside the scope of this standard.
