- This standard specifies the principles and methods for the sampling and determination of inert gases in gaseous effluents from nuclear power plants. This standard is applicable to the measurement of inert gas activity concentration in nuclear power plant chimneys. The measurement of inert gas activity concentration at other sampling points can be implemented as a reference. This standard does not involve the issues of sampling representativeness and redundancy. The collected samples come from the representative sampling pipeline interface of the chimney.
