- This standard is intended for use when carrying out calculations to justify the strength of equipment and pipelines of nuclear power plants, which are subject to federal rules and regulations in the field of atomic energy use [1]. This standard establishes the values and methods for determining the following characteristics of the physical properties of basic structural materials (hereinafter referred to as materials) used when carrying out strength calculations of equipment and pipelines: ——elastic modulus; ——average temperature coefficient of linear expansion; ——Poisson's ratio; ——shear modulus. The applicability of materials for the manufacture of equipment and pipelines of nuclear power plants specified in 1.1 is regulated by federal norms and rules in the field of atomic energy use [1]
