Scope

This standard specifies a qualitative method for the determination of thermonuclease produced by coagulase-positive staphylococci in milk and milk-based products. The presence of thermonuclease in milk and milk-based products can be used as an indicator that staphylococcal growth has reached dangerous levels and reflect the likely presence of staphylococcal enterotoxin
