- Nongxiang 42 is a late-maturing indica type high-quality conventional hybrid late rice variety developed by the Hunan Provincial Rice Research Institute through systematic breeding and hybridization of Xiangwanxian No. 17 as the female parent and rice blast-resistant resource material Gumei No. 4. It was approved by Hunan Provincial Crops in 2020 Approved by the Variety Approval Committee (Xiangshendao 20200011). It is suitable for planting late-maturing late rice in areas with low incidence of rice blast in Hunan Province.
