Scope

This standard specifies a purge-and-trap/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of turpentine in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of turpentine in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. When the sampling volume is 5 ml, the method detection limit of turpentine is 0.5 μg/L, and the lower determination limit is 2.0 μg/L.
