- This standard establishes terms and definitions of basic concepts in the field of prosthetics and orthotics of the upper and lower extremities. This standard does not apply to endoprostheses. The terms established by this standard are mandatory for use in all types of documentation and literature in the field of prosthetics, orthotics and prosthetic construction that are within the scope of standardization work and/or using the results of this work. This standard must be used in conjunction with GOST R ISO 9999
