This document specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of mold steel, comparison test blocks, testing instruments and equipment, testing conditions and methods, defect determination, quality classification and testing reports. This document applies to manual and automatic ultrasonic testing of mold steel with a thickness of not less than 6 mm using the longitudinal wave direct incident reflection method. Ultrasonic testing of round bar die steel and other non-die steel forgings, plates, etc. can be performed with reference to this document.
